Keith Jarrett Live in London – Dec 1st 2008

Filed under: Music — tom @ 2:44 pm

I’m insanely excited.

Listening to Keith Jarrett is like listening to the thoughts of an angel. The music is subtle, beautiful and easily accessible. I can recommend no album more highly than The Koln Concert. Take a listen and then be jealous that I’m seeing him live in London at the Royal Festival hall in a few weeks. His first concert in London for over 5 years.

Booya!

  1. I too am insanely excited. I’ve only listened to the Koln Concert so far… liltingly devastating but totally heartwarming.

  2. I was there!!!

It was beautiful. He came, uttered few words, apart from telling us off occasionally (‘what is it with image?’) as somebody tried to take a photograph …

It was a great journey; moved from intricate to melodious, quick to eyes closingly slow. A friend felt his neck strain release and I signed most of the way through and i went through decompression.

And then the encores. Surely not, hes coming out, again, and again, and again, and again!!!!

Lovely sense of humour … some humility, despite a fan a few rows over shouting at his friend ‘He’s such a diva’.

The best £16 per ticket I ever spent. I did take my binoculors.
