Tom Critchlow is 10% Kitteh
Howdy folks - did you miss me? Wow I should try and update this more often. I have been busy though - operation kitteh has been taking up about 12 hours a day but thankfully I’ve finally managed to work my voodoo black magic on google/live/yahoo and hey presto - over 10% of the first page images for a [tom critchlow] search result in a picture of a kitten. Job Done. Case closed.
Now, what’s next - maybe Stephen Pavlovich knows?

Giant magenta cocks all the way.

Hmm. It looks like now (2 weeks later) Live does a better job as serving up the truth
Great experiment. I really enjoyed reading about it.
Two observations. One is that the swimwatch pic is NAMED ‘tom critchlow’ and linked to with ‘tom critchlow image’ anchor text. I think the word IMAGE is more important because since ur using the ‘image search’ in google.
My second observation is that the post titled ’seo experiment’ has a lot of surround text with ‘tom critchlow’ but the image itself is NOT named ‘tom critchlow’ it’s named ‘att00068_resize.jpg’.
My third observation is that Yahoo Search Explorer says ‘att00068_resize.jpg’ does NOT have any links pointing to it.
In conclusion, maybe a follow-up experiment could be ‘what approx. weight does google and others give to having the picture named after the keyword’.
Although, I think we both know naming the image after a keyword IS a factor, but the question is ‘how much of a factor….’
Great stuff man. Your great on WBF.
